FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and veteran singer Innocent Idibia, known as 2Face, are among the ‘100 Most Notable Peace Icons in Africa’, as listed by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). The list, released by the organizers on their website, also includes several other notable Africans. From Nigeria, figures like former SGF Boss Mustapha, Tony Elumelu, Mohammed Abdullahi, Alhaji Imaan Ibrahim, Femi Otedola, and others are recognized. Renowned clergy Pastor Jerry Eze, Nollywood star Rita Dominic, and various other individuals from diverse backgrounds have been acknowledged for their peace-building efforts.

He emphasized that the honorees come from diverse backgrounds and have dedicated themselves to peace and non-violence. These icons have effectively used their talents, resources, and positions to promote peace throughout the continent. These peace icons encompass political leaders, activists, humanitarians, artists, media personalities, financial experts, and more. They are dedicated to resolving conflicts, fighting injustice, providing aid, promoting unity, and supporting the growth of peace. The initiative believes that their efforts have inspired millions and contributed to a more peaceful world. Amafibe further stated that as we honor these individuals, we’re reminded of the impact their work has on the world and hope their examples will continue to inspire others to strive for a just and peaceful global community.
