A 30-year-old woman identified as Queen Obukoko makes the headline as she have both male and female sex organs which have made her face significant challenges throughout her life. From a young age, she noticed her physical differences—an unusually deep voice and a penis-like growth—which led to confusion and treatment attempts by her parents.
By 15, Obukoko became acutely aware of her condition, which caused her embarrassment when her classmates discovered she could urinate standing up like a man.
Despite her efforts to live discreetly, her condition has led to public scrutiny and personal hardship. As reported by Punch, Obukoko has been targeted by blackmailers who used intimate photos to extort money from her, and many of her romantic relationships with men ended in failure due to their discomfort or exploitation upon learning about her intersex status. Consequently, she turned to relationships with women, which resulted in two children.

Her first partner, with whom she had a son, left after disclosing Obukoko’s condition to her family, leading to their separation. Her second relationship produced a daughter, and Obukoko worries the child may share her intersex traits. Despite these challenges, Obukoko dreams of marrying a man after undergoing gender reassignment surgery, which she cannot afford at the moment.
Obukoko remains open about her identity, sharing her experiences to seek understanding and support. Her family has accepted her condition, though the emotional strain has been substantial. Medical experts explain that intersex traits arise from genetic anomalies, highlighting the need for individualized care and support for intersex individuals.
