There are two types of men, those who like it big and those who like it small.
In Asia, men are usually accustomed to women who are thin, with little to no extra luggage in front or behind.
African men are a little different from Asians. Most black men usually prefer huge, voluptuous and curvy ladies. But the big question is, why do black men prefer women with extra luggage?
Let’s briefly discuss five reasons why black men prefer curvy women.
1. Steatopygia
Staetopygia is a genetic characteristics found in most black women. This is a state of having substantial level of tissues in the backside, thighs or melons. This is usually found in women of the sub-saharan African origin such as South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda, Benin and more.
African men have over the centuries lived and dined with women having those tissues in them. So, the word curvy is not new to the black community.
2. Media
Growing up in a society that glorifies curvy women has programmed 90 percent of black men to desire women with big physique, especially when it comes to finding the perfect soulmate.
The obsession with curves is largely due to the media, TV commercials and music videos, particularly those aimed at the black community. Most of them feature curvaceous models as the only ones that matter.
Nonetheless, it is important to know that not all black men are obsessed with curvy women. Many of them are also perfectly satisfied by thin and portable looks.
3. Beauty
Beauty is subjective, but according to a survey, most black men prefer their women to be thick and curvy. They assume that women with defined features are more beautiful, feminine, younger and softer.

They also believe that dating skinny women is like dating a fellow dude, but women with curves look younger, attractive and fertile.
4. Fertility
Another reason why black men like curvy women is that they are considered to be more fertile and feminine. This notion might have emanated from the traditional African belief that wide hips and big melons are the primary indicators of fertility and what makes a black woman.
5. Maturity
Women with curves are perceived as more mature especially in an African setting where the majority of black men regard thin women as unfeminine, weak and incapable of bearing strong and healthy kids.
