Lisha Dachor, a 19-year-old nail artist from Plateau State, has successfully concluded her bid to establish a new Guinness World Record for the longest individual nail painting marathon.
During the event, known as a “nail-a-thon,” Dachor reportedly painted over 4,000 artificial nails within a span of 72 hours.
Taking to her Facebook page, she expressed her gratitude for the support received and her excitement at achieving a new milestone in the realm of nail art.
Dachor had announced her ambitious challenge from April 28 to May 1 at Odilin’s Event Centre in Jos, the capital of Plateau State. She even arranged free transportation for attendees to and from the venue.
In an interview with the BBC, Dachor revealed her motivation to highlight the positive aspects of Plateau State and to challenge stereotypes about teen mothers, aiming to inspire hope, especially among single mothers.
Now that the event has concluded, Dachor eagerly awaits the assessment of her attempt by Guinness World Records, pending the submission of evidence documenting her marathon nail-painting session.
The conclusion of the “nail-a-thon” was met with widespread celebration and praise, with Plateau State Governor, Caleb Muftwang, expressing pride in Dachor’s achievement, citing her determination as an inspiration to the youth.
