Anaya Peterson, a 32-year-old mom, brushed off her daughterâs advice to not get her eyeballs tattooed due to potential blindness – and now, sheâs going blind.
The Belfast, Northern Ireland-based woman, who happens to be a law student, admitted that she was inspired by Amber Luke – an Australian model who tattooed her eyeballs a vivid blue and went blind for three weeks after. Although Amber Luke later got her vision back, it appears that Peterson might lose her sight permanently.
âI was just going to get one [eye tattoo] at first, because I thought that if I go blind, at least Iâve got the other eye. I should have stuck with that,â Peterson told Kennedy News. âMy daughter told me that I didnât want to do that [the tattoo] asking, âWhat if you go blind?â She wasnât on board with it at all.â
âUnfortunately, my artist went too deep into my eyeball,â she said. âIf your eyeball procedureâs done correctly, youâre not supposed to go blind at all.â
Anaya now wishes she had listened to her wise 7-year-old daughter after she was left hospitalized by the eyeball modification.
