realwisdomlaw‘s post reads:
Alot of people are healthy and strong, yet they still go about begging for money, either on the street, or even on social media.
Some blame their actions on the harsh economy, while others who beg gives all sorts of excuses.
Well, if you are among this set of people, I hope you all learn from the following story.
I went to fix my broken android phone in a popular Aba market, while at the store where they sell phone accessories, I spotted young men who stands in front of the store and wait patiently for people to buy screen or any other parts so they will fix it for them.
Most of them approach me and pleaded with me to allow them fix my broken android phone but I vehemently refused because I really don’t like giving my phone to bystanders.
Suddenly, this young man approached me and pleaded with me to allow him fix my phone, I refused but he persisted then I agreed.
I asked how much, he says he will take N1,000, I offered to pay N700 and he agreed.
Honestly I didn’t, know why I agreed to let him fix my phone even when is against my policy.
I didn’t know that the young man is physically challenged person, It was after paying for the screen that I realized he’s paralyzed.
He took his crutches and we headed for his shop so he could fix the phone.
I thought his shop was close by, but is not, infact his shop is about 70-100 meters away from the shop accessories where we met.
Behold, his shop is located upstairs, I watched him struggling to climb the stairs with his two crutches, I was moved to tears.
Finally, he fixed my broken phone and believe me, he did a great job fixing it, his is an expert when it comes to repairing phones.
I asked his name, he says Chukwunonso, and we exchanged contact.
I was marveld with what I experienced, Chukwunonso says he climbed the stairs at least 30 times every day.
Even though Chukwunonso understands that he has an advantage to beg for alms like others in his condition do, he didn’t, because he understands that there’s is dignity in labor. He took some time out to learn how to repair phones and perfect it.
As a business minded person, Chukwunonso even though his shop is upstairs and far apart, he didn’t just sit down and wait for customers to come to him. He goes all out to search for deserving customers.
What Chukwunonso did was noble and he deserves the best of life, he demonstrated that there’s is indeed dignity in labor.
We all should learn from this young strong mind and imitate him.
On this note, I beg🙏🙏 everyone seeing this post to please share it as many times as you can, you never know, his helper might be on your timeline.
Let’s do our best to help him.
Please share to encourage him, may God continue to bless you and your family as you share, amen.
