1. Keeping your phone away at dinner

The majority of people have gotten so used to their phones that they hardly keep them away. Keeping your phone away during dinner is an etiquette that not only shows table manners but shows respect to people you are having dinner with.

2. Arriving at an event on time 

If you’ve been invited to an event or have a function to attend, etiquette demands that you arrive at the event on time. Avoid overly late coming to events. And even if you’d be late, call in first.

3. Giving gifts as a guest 

Taking gifts to visit a person or to an event is one etiquette a lot of people no longer regard. Always have it in mind to give gifts when visiting.

4. Accept Compliments 

The majority of people turn down compliments by laughing them away, or even arguing with you. This shouldn’t be so. Learn to accept compliments.

5. Covering your mouth when you cough

This is important especially when you are in a public place. Always cover your mouth when you cough. A handkerchief should always be in your purse, and when there is no handkerchief, use yours left palm.

6. Always RSVP 

If you have been given an invitation, courtesy demands that your respond via text, call, or email. This will help your host plan better. And if you are turning up with a crew, let your host know.
