On Monday 23rd November 2020, the United States Mission to Nigeria celebrated a Nigerian doctor identified as Dr Onyema Ogbuagu, for the role he played in the development of a COVID-19 vaccine.
Ogbuagbu was part of the team that helped pharmaceutical company, Pfizer, to developed the first world approved vaccine.
According to the reports, Dr Ogbuagbu, graduated from the University of Calabar in 2003, after which he moved down to the US and rose to become Associate Professor of Medicine and Infectious Disease Specialist at Yale University.
The truth here is, in Nigeria, we have people who have what it takes to conquer the world, but the major problem facing the biggest black nation in the world is bad leaders.
In terms of leadership, Nigerians are just unfortunate because those who holds the corridors of powers are monsters who only think only for themselves and ways to enrich themselves while the electorates languishes in abject poverty.
If Dr Ogbuagbu was working in Nigeria the “System” would have frustrated him to the point where he will be treating only Malaria and Typhoid and leading protests for salary payment as a hobby.
Our Nigerian environment is designed to favour only fraudulent politicians and their children.
Nigerians flourish everywhere except in Nigeria.
