Depression is a state of mind producing a serious, long-term lowering of enjoyment of life or inability to visualize a happy future.

1. Have fun
You may not have expected this to appear first, but this is necessary if you want to avoid it dealing with depression. When you find yourself in situations where you no longer feel good about yourself or things around you when you begin to find displeasure in life, find a way to have fun.
Take yourself to a treat, go shopping, visit eateries, go swimming or just make sure that you get your mind off whatever is bothering you at the moment and find happiness.
Doing this with friends will not be s a bad idea.
2. Avoid procrastination
Most times the reason why we get depressed is that we do not get our desired goal which would lead us to worry and stress. Procrastination can be a leading factor in depression because procrastination does not allow you to achy all set goals.
3. Always think positive
When positive thoughts fill a greater part of you, depression will have no space to be. Read books that are motivational and encouraging, listen to music and talk to people who will always make you see more in yourself.
4. Get engage
This could be volunteering work or any other activity. But the goal is for you to get engaged in something that will take your mind away from negative thoughts that will make your spirit low.
5. Reduce stress level
Stress can be a contributing factor to depression. Always find time to rest and as well find a balance between activities that will drain you and probably cause depression to creep in.
6. Avoid alcohol, especially when dealing with depression.
7. Exercise
Regular exercise helps the brain to rewire itself positively. It keeps the body active and produces temporary hormones- endorphins which helps people to feel good.
8. Eat healthily
Healthy feeding helps to keep the body and mind in place.
9. Build a support system
The best way to deal with depression is to open up to trusted friends and family and create out out them a shoulder that you can lean on.
Having people around you who love to see you happy and believe in you will make you filled with joy and the thought of depression will become far from you.
