Ways to protect the eyes:

1. Intake of vitamins

The regular intake of vitamin A, C and E helps in the improvement of eyesight.

Vitamins can be gotten from:

  • Carrot
  • Red pepper
  • Spinach
  • Sweet potatoes
  • Citrus.

 

2. Maintaining physical fitness

Healthy living and maintaining a healthy weight can help your eyes improve. Certain diseases such as Type 2 diabetes can cause damage to the tiny blood vessels in the eyes. They are commonly found among obsessed people.

The exercise should be done early in the morning.

 

3. When carrying out Certain activities, always wear protective eyewear.

When working in your garage or science experiments in a laboratory, it is essential to wear eyewear this helps in protection of sharp objects and reduces the risk of chemicals, wood particles and metals from entering the eyes.

Examples of  eyewears include:

  • Facemask
  • Helmet
  • Google’s
  • Shields
  • Safety glass

 

3. Wear sunglasses

Sunglasses protect the eyes again ultraviolet light. It improves eyesight and blocks about radiation from the sunlight.

Wearing sunglasses protect your eyes from conditions that may hurt you.

 

4. Wear a wide- brimmed hat

Always wear a hat during sunny days.

 

5. Do not touch the eye with unwashed hands or contact lens.

 

6. Avoid smoking

Smoking raises your risk of developing cataracts and other related eye diseases.

 

7. Get enough sleep

Getting enough sleep daily can help in protecting the eyes. It helps the eyes relax and avoid unnecessary stress on the eyes.

 

8. Do not stress the eyes unnecessarily

Avoid straining the eyes by staring at the computer for a long time or even a book.

The eyes should be kept from much stress, even walking under the sun for a long time adds stress to the eyes.
