The issue with overeating is linked to our brains. Overeating is often about how the brain falls back to our old eating habits. The problem with overeating is that the human brain still sits up with the eating habits that it is used to.

Before you can find out reasons why it is difficult for you to stop oversight, you need to identify personal triggers for overeating, or factors that can lead to overeating which could be boredom, emotional reasons, or not eating the right foods.

See reasons why you may find it difficult to stop overeating:

 1. You skip important meals

Whenever you are starving, you are more likely to eat more. Avoid skipping important meals like breakfast because people who eat morning meals tend to eat less fat and cholesterol during the day.

2. You eat with distractions

When you are focused when eating, you tend to recognize your body signal and know when you are full. But eating in front of a television, computer screen, or device screen may always leave you hungry and leave you eating all the time.

3. You do not keep track of your feeding habit

When you learn to keep a food diary to see how much you’re eating, and when and where you tend to eat, it keeps you from overeating. It will also help you notice patterns in your eating habits that you could remove, especially if they are foods that do not contribute much to your health.

4. You always eat out

If you rarely eat homemade food, then you are a victim of this. If you beat out frequently, you may be overeating without knowing. The best way to contribute to healthier meals is to fix your meals at home. Save restaurants for special occasions.

5. You eat a lot of junk/processed foods

Junks are high in calories and sugar and they do not necessarily satisfy your hunger thereby leaving you to always crave for more. It is best to eat whole foods like fresh fruits and vegetables. Research has shown that sugary foods have some effects on the brain that would make you want more.

6. Eating with Emotions

Some people overeat when they are sad. However, it becomes an issue when it serves as your coping strategy. Create other escape ways like going for a walk, exercising, or talking with a friend rather than eating all the time.

7. You use food as a reward

First, it is not bad to give yourself some treatment after a long day, but avoid making it an everyday habit, if not, you may end up grabbing that box of pizza and glass of wine every day.
