Most times the issue nursing mothers have is the ability to choose healthy foods for their babies after weaning.
Babies cannot eat everything adults eat because not all foods sit well with their immune systems.

They require a lot of nutrients that would help them to grow and stay healthy.

Whatever a baby starts to eat after breast milk should be easy to eat, soft, and easy to digest.

Here are ideal food for babies

1. Pap (Akamu)
Pap is one of the widely consumed foods for babies. It has varieties that are more from corn and millet. Aside from the fact that it provides energy to a baby and fills the baby with nutrients, it is one of the easily prepared baby food. One good thing about pap is that it is affordable too.

 

2. Chicken
Chicken is rich in protein and Vitamin B6. It provides a great deal of protein for children to support rapid growth. Be sure to cook it till it’s tender and soft, mash it and serve.

 

3. Beans
Beans is one of the most nutritious foods for babies. It is packed with nutrients, folate, and magnesium. Beans is one of the affordable food to give a baby. To avoid stomach upset, cook beans till it’s very soft.

4. Mashed yam & potatoes
This is an ideal food when you want to start feeding your child solid food. Yam or potatoes is easy to cook. Mash it after it’s done before serving bit to your baby.

5. Okra
Okra contains vitamin C for immunity, Vitamin K for healthy blood, and folic acid for cell growth. When cooked, okra is smooth and slimy, making it easy for a child to eat.

6. Boiled Egg yolk
Boiled egg yolk helps in a child’s brain development, immunity, and eye development. It enhances the overall well-being of a child too.
