Tooth decay and cavities are among the most common oral health problems and they can occur in any one. It is always best to see a dentist when an oral issue arises but these home remedies can also help.

1. Salt

Salt can be used to treat cavities due to the antiseptic and antibacterial properties in it. Just dissolve 1 teaspoon of salt in a glass of warm water. Then swish a mouthful of this solution around your mouth for a minute, concentrating on the affected tooth. You can perform this 3 times a day until you see results.

2. Oil Pulling

Thus is an age-old practice that reduces cavities as well as bleeding gums and bad breath. Put 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in your mouth, then gently swish it around for about 20 minutes after which you spit it out. Take note not to gargle or swallow the oil. Thereafter rinse your mouth with warm water.

3. Garlic

Garlic is often recommended for tooth decay and cavities as they provide release from pain and promote healthier gums and teeth. Prepare a paste from 3-4 crushed garlic cloves and ¼ teaspoon of rock salt, then you apply it on the affected tooth. Leave it for about 10 minutes before rinsing with a mouth wash. Eating raw garlic regularly can also provide effective results.
