1. Register for antenatal care

Some women do not see it necessary to visit the hospital when they are pretty but it is a very essential thing to do. It helps you go for regular checkups.

2. Take Supplements

Supplements helps growing babies. Folic acid reduces the risk of your baby developing a neutral tube defect . Vitamin D helps the baby’s bone and teeth to develop. Omega-3 oil contain retinol form of vitamin A.

3. Drink enough water daily

When a woman gets pregnant, her blood volume increases rapidly and drinking enough water helps prevent dehydration. A pregnant woman can also take fresh fruits packed with vitamin C.

4. Avoid smoking

Smoking while pregnant increases the risk of sudden infant death syndrome, still birth, preterm labour, tremors and intrauterine growth restriction.

5. Avoid taking alcohol

Whether after or before pregnancy. It can damage the baby’s developing nervous system. It increases the risk of having a baby with fetal alcohol spectrum disorder and can cause abnormal facial features and learning disabilities.

6. Exercise always

It helps the baby stay healthy and prevent excess weight gain on the pregnant mother. Exercise increase energy, improve sleep and boost mood.

7. Get plenty sleep

At least 7-9 hour of sleep is important during pregnancy. Always sleeping on the left side improves flow of blood.

8. Cut the take of caffeine

Caffeine contributes to the risk of miscarriage. Avoid taking much soft drinks, teas, and coke.

9. Always take properly washed fruits and vegetables.

10. Take enough milk

It will give you enough calcium for you and your baby.
