The feet is usually over looked as an impossible part of the body and most people tend to ignore issues that affects their feet.
The feet make up for 25% of the body’s bones, 18% of joints and 6% of the muscles. Causing damage to any of these parts can cause serious harm to our bodies and how we complete our daily tasks.
One of the best ways to stay healthy is by moving, whether it is through activities like running/walking, dancing, weight lifting or even just cleaning your house.

However, feet are the ones that get the most wear and tear. All this pressure and movement will not only leave your feet sore but can also affect your knees, hips and entire spine. The following are some strategies on how you can keep your feet healthy:
- Do not wear shoes that are too tight, wearing them can cause foot pain, blisters, calluses and foot odor.
- Do not store your shoes for a very long period.
- Wash your feet: make sure you dry them up completely, especially between the toes where fungus can develop.
- Moisturise your feet, a good moisturiser will keep your skin softer and healthier.
- Wear clean socks.
- Examine your feet regularly: Make a habit of checking your feets for problems (cuts, bruises, sores, swelling).
- Cut toe nails properly.
- Avoid walking barefoot
- Try wearing comfortable shoes.
- Avoid wearing high heels everyday.
