Turkish Super League giants Trabzonspor have erected a statue in honour of Super Eagles forward Anthony Nwakaeme.
The 32 striker has been inspirational for the club he joined four seasons ago. He featured in 122 matches and scored 38 goals for Trabzonspor.
The brain behind the statue Adem Birsen said the club wanted to make a bust of Nwakaeme:
“We wanted the very intelligent man to identify with Trabzon. We made it with the cap of our legendary name Ahmet Suat Özyazcı. It was a long construction process in 5-6 months. We had it done with a special sculptor. We love and admire him very much. If Fenerbahçe has Alex, we have Nwakaeme. We love him very much, he should continue to score, he is our everything.”
Anthony Nwakaeme is still putting up an outstanding performance for Trabzonspor this season. He has already scored 4 goals in as many games for the club this season.
