Super Eagles of Nigeria has automatically qualified for Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup after reports of Ghana’s failed doping test surfaced.
Ghana previously dumped Nigeria out of the World Cup for the first time in 16 years, by away goal rule. However, a recent survey conducted by CAF’s technical committee revealed that the Black Stars goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott did not pass a doping test conducted before the first leg fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi Ghana.
Recall that Wollacott was exceptionally brilliant during the game. He literally saved the Black Stars from conceding a goal in that game that ended 0-0. After carefully examining his performance, CAF decided to make further investigations and found out that there were amphetamines substances in his blood. CAF unanimously decided to sanction Ghana by excluding them from the World Cup finals and replacing them with Nigeria.

Reports suggest that the Ghana Football Association could be fined and banned from football related activities for about 2 years for failing the doping test. This will definitely bring huge relief to Super Eagles fans who are currently grieving over Nigeria’s inability to qualify for the World Cup.
