Messi finally sealed the game by extending the lead to 4. Below are some of the records broken in the game:

Messi

The 33-year-old player has also scored 31 goals this season, which is the same amount of goals he scored last season for Barcelona. It implies that Messi has notched 30+ goals for 13 straight seasons.

It’s also Messi’s 35th career trophy – the most for any player for a single club, breaking Ryan Giggs’ record.

Frenkie de Jong

With one goal and two assists against Bilbao, Frenkie de Jong is the second player to be directly involved in three goals in a Copa del Rey final in the 21st century, after Lionel Messi did it with Sevilla in 2018 (one goal, two assists).

Antoine Griezmann

Antoine Griezmann has scored six goals in his last five finals, (Europa League – 2, World Cup – 1, Supercopa – 2, Copa del Rey – 1). He’s a big game player.

Barcelona
