Italian giants AS Roma has announced the appointment of José Mourinho as the next coach of the club.
The club made this known in an official statement on Tuesday.
It says:
“The club are delighted to announce an agreement has been reached with Jose Mourinho for him to become our new head coach ahead of the 2021-22 season.”
Roma has also confirmed that the interim coach Paulo Fonseca will make way for José Mourinho at the end of the current season.
Meanwhile, the Portuguese gaffer has already expressed his delight over his apportionment and promised to build a winning team for his employers.
“After meetings with the ownership, I immediately understood their ambitions for Roma. Together we want to build a winning project.

Mourinho is definitely not new in the Italian terrain, he was previously with Inter Milan where he won Serie A twice, including a European treble of Serie A, the Coppa Italia, and the UEFA Champions League in 2010, a first for an Italian club.
