Lingard was nominated for the award for three consecutive times, in February, March and April which he fortunately won. It was his very first time of winning the player of the month award in his career.
Kelechi Iheanacho got the award in March, but slightly missed out to Lingard after getting nominated for it.
Meanwhile, Newcastle United FC manager, Steve Bruce was also named the EA Sports manager of the month.
