Recall that earlier this year, Burna Boy’s album, African Giant lost to Anqelique Kidjo’s Celia, when the category was formerly known as “Best World Music Album.” He is the undisputed favourite for the award Burna time around.
Meanwhile, Burna Boy doesn’t seem to be the only Afrobeats album/artist to be nominated at the Grammy’s.
Beyonce’s video for “Brown Skin Girl” featuring Wizkid and Blue Ivy, also got nominated for Best Music Video, but it is still unclear if Wizkid was recognised for his contribution.

Anyways, if Burna Boy eventually wins the award, he will become Nigeria’s first Grammy winner since Sikiru Adepoju won with Planet Drum over 10 years ago.
