One of Nigeria’s finest female musicians, Temilade Openiyi, widely known as Tems has made history as one of the nominees for 2023 Oscars award.
She was nominated for her collaborative song with Rihanna ‘Lift me Up’ under the ‘Best Original Song’ category.
Also, ‘Lift me Up’ was one of the soundtracks on Marvel’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”
Rihanna co-wrote the soulful song with Tems, producer Ludwig Göransson, and director Ryan Coogler.
Tems have other nominations and awards to her name, including two NAACP Image Awards, two BET Awards and two Soul Train Music Awards.
She was also nominated for a Grammy Award for featuring in Wizkid’s “Essence” in 2020.
