This sparked a backlash from some quarters, including the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC).
In response, Isime took to social media to share her perspective. She posted a collage and meme to convey her feelings, emphasizing that she prioritizes her personal peace and does not take criticism personally. Isime added that being talked about does not bother her and noted that her life might highlight the insecurities of her detractors.
Continuing her response, Isime shared a video of the song “Jealousy” by Evi Edna Ogholi, suggesting that jealousy might be driving some of the criticism. She stressed that her focus remains on maintaining her peace and not letting negativity affect her.
The controversy also drew the attention of the National Film and Video Censor Board (NFVCB), which issued a statement acknowledging the concerns raised by some Muslims who felt their religion was disrespected by the movie’s poster.
