Nigerian reality TV star Venita Akpofure has taken to social media to address people who constantly criticize her for having a British accent. She said it is not her fault that someone like her who has a mixed cultural heritage, could speak in that manner.
The former Big Brother Naija housemate also made it known that she comes from a multicultural family and has traveled places. So it’s not a crime for her to speak in a different dialect.
Venita alleged in her statement on Instagram that most Nigerians get annoyed when their countrymen speak an accent different from the Nigerian accent. According to her, that mentality is a myopic.

She also used the opportunity to address those having doubts as to whether she is an actress or not. Venita reminded them of her days in the AY’s Crib and told them she would soon receive an Oscar award for acting. Read her statement below;
