The war of words between Afrobeat heavyweights Davido and Wizkid have taken a new dimension as both are now verbally abusing each other on social media.
Wizkid initiated the fight in a playful yet controversial social media exchange. The Grammy winning singer caused a stir among x users by using a video of fellow musician Davido to express his sentiments about releasing new music. The incident unfolded on the early in the morning of April 29, 2024.

Davido responded by claiming he resurrected Wizkid’s dead career with his own money, only for it to die a second time. He wrote:
“That’s what I thought. Nothing to say! Exactly why I stopped wasting my clout and jeopardizing my millions of usd of endorsements on someone whose career was resurrected a few years ago just to die again. NEXT!!”

His claims seems to have provoked Starboy that he immediately dropped a savage comment stating that Davido will never reach his level, even if he decides to retire.
“I got nun to say to u my boy! I can retire today and you still not on my level. You be influencer with a song writer . Wish u well,” he wrote.
