AFRIMMA is one the biggest African music award ceremony that creates a platform to promote the diversity of African music.
DJ Cuppy was nominated alongside 10 popular African DJs, of which four amongst them are Nigerians. But she ended up as the grand winner, and first among women.

Excited Cuppy took to Instagram to share the good news. She wrote:
“WON ‘Best African DJ’ #Afrimma2020. As the FIRST woman to win this award, I am truly HONOURED and will continue to disrupt my industry; this one is for YOU my Cupcakes! #CuppyOnAMission”
Meanwhile, Nigerian artists were the biggest winners at the 2020 AFRIMMA award. Out of 27 categories, Nigerians won in nine places.

Rema won the award as the 2020 Best Male West African artist, Simi won the best female act, Pocolee won the best African dancer, Mercy Chinwo won the best gospel act, Burna Boy won two awards, Flavour won the best live act and TG Omori won the best video director.
