Some popular celebrities surprisingly have a strong sense of rhythm other than acting and singing. These stars really know how to bust the move on the dance floor and in this article, we’ll take a look at eight celebrities who are incredible dancers.

1. Amy Adams

Amy is best known for both comedic and dramatic roles. She wanted to be a professional dancer before she discovered her love for acting. Her family moved to Castle Rock Colorado when she was eight years old.

Amy competed in track and field, sang in the school choir and participated in gymnastics at Douglas County High School. Her heart on the other hand was bent on being a ballerina. She began her dance career as an apprentice with a David Taylor dance company; a local dance company.

Despite the fact that her focus began to shift towards theater rather than dancing, dance came in handy. Her breakthrough came in an independent comedy drama film Junebug when she played a chatty pregnant woman. Her first significant hit as a leading lady came with the musical fantasy film Enchanted in which she played as a happy fairy tale princess.

2. Shakira

Shakira began belly dancing as a toddler and by the age of 10, she was seducing songs and competing in talent shows. She’s one of the greatest female entertainers and a stage performer. Her dancing is definitely top notch and her live performances are undoubtedly one of the best.

She’s completely self-taught and she also does the majority of her own choreography. Her grandmother taught her how to do an Arabian belly dancing and she sold over 75 million records worldwide with a collection of 145 songs making her one of the best selling music artists in the world.

3. Beyoncé

Her dance has a unique style but it’s based on hip-hop dancing. She was born and grew up in Houston Texas where she competed in singing and dancing competitions as a child. Beyoncé rose to stardom as the main singer of Destiny’s Child, one of the best selling girl groups of all time in the late 1990s.

She stunned the globe with a Coachella performance that has been labeled the greatest show of all time by fans. But her childhood dancing teachers remembers her as a shy, quiet girl. With 66 nominations, she’s not only the most nominated woman in Grammy history, but she is also the first woman to win six Grammy awards in one night.

Bey has topped the charts with several hits throughout the course of her three decade career including Single Ladies, Crazy in Love and Formation among others.

She has won 28 Grammy awards and tried her hand at acting, producing and directing. But despite her A-list fame, the singer is known for keeping a quiet profile.

4. Channing Tatum

He earned his first prominent role as a dancer in Ricky Martin’s She Bangs music video in 2000. He got his chance to show off his dance skills and step up after major roles in Coach Carter and She Was The Man in 2006. Channing Tatum was cast in the role due to his inherent talent as a freestyle street dancer with no formal training.

5. Christian Bale

Christian Bale’s innate dancing skills have been apparent in films like Newsies and Swing Kids. He trained at the royal ballet school as a child before focusing on acting. His inherent dancing ability and dance heritage also assisted him in a spooky American psycho dance.

He has also been the leading guy in films for various genres and he is known for his versatility and repeated physical modifications to perform his characters.

Bale has received numerous awards including an Academy award and two Golden Globe nominations. He puts his all to get into the skin of the character he plays whether it’s Insomniac Factory Worker in Machinist or Savage Bruce Wayne in the Batman Begins.

6. Bradley Cooper

Bradley is a celebrated dancer, he adores it so much that during the Fat Boy Slims Glastonbury set, he became entirely engrossed in the moment and danced like a flame in the breeze.

He’s best recognized for his appearances in the hangover series Silver Lighting’s Playbook and The Star is Born, but he’s also had success in other genres. This American actor and filmmaker has won two Grammy awards and the BAFTA Film Awards, as well as being nominated for eight Academy awards and the Tony award.

After beginning his career in 1999, he enrolled in the actor’s studio MFA program in year 2000. In the comedy Wet and Hot American Summer, he made his debut.

7. Vin Diesel

He is most recognized for his role as Dominic Toretto in The Fast and Furious franchise. An old video of the Fast and Furious star resurfaced and young Diesel was shown in the video gently laying down the basic movements of break dancing before doing a routine with his friend.

During an appearance on Jay Leno’s tonight’s show, the superstar actor revealed his surprising past. He told Leno that as a teenager, he used to sneak into New York city nightclubs to practice his dancing.

8. Hugh Jackman

He’s one of those superstars that may have been considered a triple threat, from Wolverine’s ferocious performance to PT Barnum’s singing and dancing performance and the award-winning Greatest Showman. For everyone, the oscar-nominated actor is also known for his flexibility in the film industry.

He has always enjoyed dancing and has done so since he was small. However, the actor confessed that he almost gave up dancing when his older brother told him that it was only for sissies. When he was 11 years old, Hugh’s brother however had a change of heart after witnessing his 42nd street when he was 18 and encouraged him to follow his heart.

Until 2016, Jackman held the record for the most appearances of the same superhero in a live-action film franchise as he was the only character actor to appear in all 7 chapters of the X-Men franchise.
