ROK TV Channels boss, Mary Njoku has lend her voice to the trending issue of women having to change their husband’s name after divorce. The Nollywood actress made a post on Instagram stating that when a marriage ends, that change of name should be optional giving reasons that most women have built their surname for so many years and will not want to change it on the ground of separation or divorce.

She wrote;  If marriage ends, change of name should be OPTIONAL biko. Someone cannot build a Name for many years and be asked to change it just because Oga no wan do again. A mother shouldn’t be compelled to have a different name from her underaged kids. Except she is allowed to change their names too.
