Poster boy Justin Bieber is a typical example of famous celebrities that went from YouTube to global stardom. Justin Bieber Justin was just a kid from Canada when he started posting videos under the channel name Kidrauhl in 2007.
Justin was just 12 years old when he uploaded the very first YouTube video of himself singing “So Sick” (a song by R&B star Ne-Yo).
JB still uses the Kidrauhl channel to this very day and if you need a refresher, it was Scooter Braun who found his videos and the rest is pretty much history. After his first video hit a billion on YouTube, he’s been selling millions of albums and he’s been busy becoming an international pop star.
Kate Upton
The curvaceous beauty is known for her infamous Sports Illustrated covers and she has even transitioned over to acting, but YouTube really helped her get her name out there.
Before Kate covered her first Sports Illustrated issue in 2012, a video of her doing the dougie at a Clippers game went viral and that was it.
Dylan O’Brien
Teen Wolf star Dylan O’Brien is among the famous celebrities who started off as YouTubers. We all know that Dylan starred in movies like “The Maze Runner”, but we first got to know him as the Goofy and lovable Stiles on the hit MTV show “Teen Wolf”. It was actually Dylan’s YouTube posts that proves he’s very similar to that character.

Dylan and his friends were way ahead of the curve because they started posting videos on YouTube back in 2006. They did pretty much of everything including music, comedy, you name it.
Cody Simpson
Cody was just a kid when he started sharing videos of himself performing on the YouTube back in 2009. Cody has used the channel to drop some of his biggest songs like Surfboard and his collabo with Justin Bieber. In fact, Cody even helped launch his sister’s music career with the power of YouTube.
Austin Mahone
Austin hopped on the YouTube’s bandwagon when he started posting videos in 2010. One of his famous videos at that time was a cover of Chris Brown’s “With You.” As early as 2011, he had gathered a huge fan base.
In 2012, he released his first single “Say Something” and signed to a record label. Since then, he has toured with Taylor Swift, he has won an MTV, VMA and he even released two EPs. Things are totally just getting started for him.
Soulja Boy
His video for Crank went viral in 2007 and people just couldn’t get enough of the song and they turned out their own versions. Even Beyoncé got into the fun. When Queen Bey acknowledges your existence, you know it’s a big deal and he can thank YouTube for that in fact.
