In as much as marketers leverage the internet to sell their products and services, they tend to make mistakes along this line, and these mistakes can cost them a lot of it is not avoided.

2. Overlooking E-mail Marketing.

Emails have high Return on Investment [ROI] because it’s cost are low. Have a good number of email lists and continually send them relevant messages to retain your customers. And email should be properly optimized, if not customers may not read it.

 

3. Not personalising messages

How do you feel when you receive personalized Emails that bears your name? Relaxed! Because you fell secured that whoever that is sending those mails know you in person.

That is the same way it it with personalising mails using customers first name. It creates a bond of connection between the marketer and the customer.

Learning someone’s name can go a long way to differentiate your company from othe competitors.

 

4. Not using Search engine optimization (SEO)

Ignoring SEO will make it impossible for customers to find you when the make search on search engines like Google.

Always make sure that your website contains keywords and phrases that people are searching for.

 

5.  Spamming your customers

At times, sir and take a look at the email you’ve sent to your customers in the past. Be sure that those emails are Helpful, valuable and relevant.

Your message needs to be relevant to everyone on the email list if you want them to remain subscribed to your mails.

 

6. Having a slow website

A slow website can be a complete turn off for customers, they easily get pissed off when they spend much time in accessing a website. Customers leave if it takes too long to load.

The time your page takes to load is important for your to put up unsatisfactory service.

 

7. Not knowing your target audience

This is one mistakes most online marketers make, they assume everybody to be their target audience.

The narrower your target audience, the more successful your online marketing campaigns be.

Also, targeting everyone is another way to spend money an driving unachievable goals.

 

9. Poor research

Inappropriate research before launching a course or product will lead to feeding the people with shallow knowledge. Hence, your customers may not be always satisfied with your services.

Proper research on who your target audience are and what they want will help you drive more traffic.

 

10. Not setting SMART goals

Goals should be smart, measurable, attainable, reliable and time bound. When goals are measurable it enables whoever that is involved to know the degree of growth the company /site is making.
