Top currencies in the world is based on the value of them when exchanged with INR. United States Dollars and Euro are the most popular and most traded currency but is not the highest valued.

The top currencies in the world are not even the most traded or most mentioned.

1. Kuwaiti dinar (KWD)

This is the highest currency in the world. The currency code of Kuwaiti is KWD and it has been the highest currency for a while because of the oil-rich country and their economic stability. Kuwaiti economy is heavily dependent on oil exports as one of its global reserve.

2. Bahrain Dinar (BHD)

The currency of Bahraini Arabian Gulf. Just like Kuwaiti, Bahraini is heavily dependent on oil for its global reserve. Indians are the largest export group in Bahrain.

3. Omani Rial (OMR)

Currency of Omani is situated on the Southern coast of the Arabian Peninsula. Omani’s economy relies on the oil reserves that they have.

1 OMR= #1,065.41

 

4. Jordanian Dinar (JOD)

Jordanian is the currency of Jordan. The government of Jordan keeps fixed exchange rates which is a major reasons behind the currency’s values so high. Unlike other currencies, Jordan is not dependent on oil because there economy is diversified.

1 JOD = #578.57

 

5. Gibraltar pounds (GIP)

Currency of Gibraltar. The central bank which is the government of Gilbratar controls the GIP with the responsibility of minting coins and printing notes.

 

6. British pounds (GBP)

GBP or pound sterling is the currency of Great Britain. Sterling is the fourth most traded currency in the foreign exchange market.

7. Caymanian dollar (C1$)

Currency of the Cayman Islands. Cayman Islands dollar replaced Jamaican dollar in 1972.

8. Euro (EUR)

EUR is the official currency of the Eurozone. 19 out of 28 member countries uses it. It is the second largest reserve currency after US dollar and the second most traded currency in the world.

9. Swiss franc (CHF)

Currency of Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Switzerland is famous for its secretive banking sector and it made the national currency a safe haven for international capital.

10. United States Dollars (USD)

This is the most traded currency in the world, but not the highest valued currency. It is a global currency backed by the power of US in global political landscape.

1 USD = #419. 20
