Canadian artist Justin Bieber doesn’t seem to like the fact that members of the Recording Academy still refer to him as a pop star, when he plays R & B.
Justin who scored four nominations (Best pop vocal album, Best pop solo performance, Best pop duo/group performance and Best country duo/group performance), felt he should have been recognized for R&B instead of pop.
“I am flattered to be acknowledged and appreciated for my artistry. I am very meticulous and intentional about my music. With that being said, I set out to make an R&B album. ‘Changes’ was and is an R&B album. It is not being acknowledged as an R&B album, which is very strange to me,” he wrote on Instagram.

Another Canadian, The Weekend accused Grammy of corruption, after receiving zero nominations despite releasing a highly acclaimed, chart-topping album. He wrote via twitter:
“The Grammys remain corrupt. You owe me, my fans and the industry transparency…”
Female rapper Nicki Minaj also used the Grammys announcement day to call them out for not awarding her Best New Artist in 2012, the year Bon Iver won.
“Never forget the Grammys didn’t give me my best new artist award when I had 7 songs simultaneously charting on billboard & bigger first week than any female rapper in the last decade – went on to inspire a generation. They gave it to the white man Bon Iver,” she wrote on Twitter.

Finally, American R & B singer Teyana Taylor blasted the recording academy for clearly overlooking women in that category.
“Y’all was better off just saying best MALE R&B ALBUM cause all I see is d**k in this category,” she tweeted.
Meanwhile, Beyonce emerged as the artist with most nominations after packing nine nominations this year, while Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa and Roddy Rich each scored six.
