Tragic: woman burns self to death over divorce in Jigawa

A 40-year-old woman in Jigawa State tragically ended her life by setting herself ablaze after a divorce from her husband. The incident took place in Garin Mallam village, Guri Local Government Area, on Thursday morning.

According to the Jigawa State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Lawan Shiisu, the woman poured petrol on herself and ignited the flames, resulting in her death. Officers from the Guri Divisional Police Headquarters confirmed the incident after arriving at the scene. Her charred body was later taken to the hospital before being released to her family for burial.
