A curious incident occurred at the well-known Alaba International Market in Ojo, Lagos, on Friday, causing quite a stir among customers and traders. A hungry customer who had visited a food vendor inside the market made a shocking discovery: a human private part in her plate of soup.
The bizarre finding took place at GBO Plaza within the market and triggered pandemonium, with anxious traders and customers gathering to witness the strange sight. The plate of soup presented a unique “alar’carte” display, adorned with a protruding human part and accompanied by other delicacies, all served steaming hot.
The woman, identified as Ebere, who had bought the food from the vendor, was the one to find the peculiar meat in her plate. She raised an alarm, expressing her disbelief at discovering what seemed to be a male child’s private part in her meal.
Eyewitnesses confirmed the unsettling sight and engaged in heated discussions about the nature of the meat. Eventually, they came to a unanimous conclusion that it appeared to be a part of a child’s anatomy.
The situation quickly escalated, and many people demanded justice from the food vendor, who protested her innocence, claiming she had purchased the meat from her regular supplier within the market.
Some traders, who claimed to be regular customers of the food vendor, expressed their distress, realizing they might have unknowingly consumed human flesh, thinking it was delicious meat.
The commotion was about to lead to a serious crisis when market leaders intervened, urging caution and promising to conduct a thorough investigation to address the issue properly.
The Public Relations Officer of Alaba International Market, Ezeani Theophilus, confirmed the incident and stated that they had involved the police in the investigation, which was still ongoing. The food vendor was believed to have disappeared from the market at that time, and the police were yet to receive an official report.
The situation remained unresolved, leaving many concerned about the outcome of the investigation and the fate of the food vendor.
