It is very pertinent to stay hydrated before and during pregnancy. Also, when you start to feel contractions, drink plenty of water. The water will give you more energy to push and also allow you to have more endurance.

 

2. Eat healthier meals

During pregnancy, you need to reduce your intake of snacks and consume more of vegetables and fruits. Get something in you in order to keep your blood sugar levels up. Even if you want to snack, then you have to do it wisely.

3. Exercise

Being fit means that you just might have a shorter labour than someone who is inactive, and the healthier you are, the more endurance you have. Start with easy exercises such as walking, biking or swimming which can help keep your health in a good place.

 

4. Take walks

It is pertinent to walk during pregnancy and also during labour too. Women who walk it out throughout their labour tend to have shorter duration of labour and delivery.

 

5. Prenatal care

Make sure you receive adequate prenatal care as it allows doctors or midwives to treat and prevent potential health problems throughout the course of the pregnancy while also promoting healthy lifestyles that will benefit both the mother and child.
