Cooking gas also known as LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) is a source of energy used for cooking, heating and lightning. Cooking gas is a colorless and odorless gas.
However, a special odor has been intentionally added so that a potential leak can be detected easily.
Cooking gas is produced by refining crude oil in refineries or from natural gas and delivered to the consumers in steel tanks. LPG, which is heavier than air due to its high density, is a hydrocarbon-based combustible gas.
LPG is the generic name of the butane and propane gases and their mixtures in different proportions. In Turkey, LPG used in household gas cylinders consists of 70% butane and 30% propane.
Cylinder Gas is present in both liquid and gas forms but mostly in gaseous form.
Because LPG is a liquefied gas under pressure and has a boiling point of approximately 0°C, it is in gaseous state at room temperature.
Steps to know original cooking gas:
1. Look out for the country of origin of the cylinder, address of the manufacturer, date of manufacture, any cylinder that die not have these information is likely to be fake.
2. Check for the lifespan of the cooking gas, the lifespan of a cylinder should be 15 years. The period includes the cylinder lasted before you bought it.
3. Check for the cooking gas serial number.
4. Check for the test pressure.
5. Ensure that the cylinder has no physical damage like dents or rust.
